20 Best Ski Mountains in Italy You Must Visit

If you can only ski at 1 mountain, choose to ski at Cervinia which is nestled in the shadow of the Matterhorn. It allows you to ski to Switzerland and 
remain one of the most underrated spot in all of Europe to ski.

It is only a 1.5 hour drive from the Turin airport and the rustic ski village isn’t as flashy as Zermatt, but it is endearing. The ski patrol is immensely helpful, and willing to ferry down less experienced skiers if they wear out for the day.

At the foot of the Matterhorn, the history of Cervinia Ski resort dates back as to 1930s as it was renamed to attract ski lovers.

Mottolino Fun Mountain

A five-star bike park experience for the people looking a great view and Italian food. The snow are wonderful with fun park and newer facilities. 

This is a must-go spot for mountain biker even in summer, with gondola and great air. The slopes are long and there’s not many icy parts at all which is suitable for newbies. 

Dolomiti Superski

There are a variety of ski runs with plenty food stops and plenty of ski lovers. The mountains and valleys are majestic with modern lifts, incredible lodging, and charming towns to attract many people.

This place is suitable for hiking with a nice view of nature and animals in its numerous hiking trails. 

Sestriere Skiing Hill

Great runs and lovely restaurants but the blue run to access them was full of stones. They need to address that.
For less crowded ski, you can come and enjoy with minimal waiting time for the lift. The lift and gondola is not fast though and there are no kids fun park.

The slopes are wonderful, but the area is crowded and not well connected or clearly labelled wit signages. There are friendly people and good food

It is a good place for beginners skiers with separate lifts for the beginners to get to different heights of the hills. 

Snowpark Monte Bondone

The well groomed and shaped jumps comes with nice boosts and variety for advanced skiers. It has a super nice snow park with good staff and well kept by the shapers. 

Riserva Bianca Limone Piemonte

Limone has great slopes, good food and provide convenience. You can visit both Italian side of mountain and the France Alps Maritimes. There are easy to access chair-lifts and ski-lifts and prices are reasonable. There are different colored (e.g. red trails will be available to get to Maneggio) or you can chose to walk.

Santa Caterina Ski Resort

The village is lovely with plenty of good hotels, excellent runs and snow conditions. The slopes were well maintained in good shape even at the end of the day. It is not too big, but great for advanced skiers.

Val Senales Glacier

If you want to go skiing or cross country skiing in fall, this one is for you with amazing views at high altitude. There are some stones on the slope so do take note if you are an inexperienced skier. 

Tre Valli

Great Place with amazing landmarks and beautiful Dolomites mountains as a parnoramic views. In winter, there is a huge ski area from Falcade, till Moena and Predazzo. There are also plenty of alpine lodges with amazing local food with little crowd.

Bormio Ski

The slopes are suitable for beginners to advanced skier. It is very accessible with plenty of lifts and eatery. It can be crowded and locals there might be too direct for many.

Livigno

Livigno is not easy to reach but many comes regularly for the slopes, food, atmosphere, and friendly locals. The local town is filled with cozy cafes and restaurants and world class parks and trails. The bus to other side of valley might be very crowded.

A nice skiing place nearer to Austria part of Italy. The two hills are connected by a cableway. Each hill has around 2 blue, 2 red and 2 black slopes.

Sella Nevea

Folgaria Ski

With nice open reds and blues, the area is wide and relaxing to ski. Rental and passes are cheaper than most resorts and worth the money. It is very good for beginners and intermediates, but a bit limited for advanced skiers. The slopes were empty during the week but busy on the Saturday when the locals came out to play. The school of the Italian Sky Federation is located there providing a safe place for children to have fun.

A beautiful ski slope with lots of snow, beautiful view and wide track. It is suitable for amateurs with little traffic in the morning and conveniently located in the center of Cogne.
