July 4th Holiday Events: Fireworks in Marina del Rey, Party in Venice & Parade!
On July 4th, Friday there are some great options for celebrating the holiday in Venice, Marina del Rey and Santa Monica!
The annual Marina del Rey Fireworks really are a blast – and the great thing is that you can see them right here in Venice,! Best location on the beach of course…unless you have a boat and can tool around in or near the Marina! There are restaurants, bars and hotels in Venice and the Marina by the beach that are good viewing spots. Fireworks start at 9pm for a 20 minute show. Make sure to get there early and bike, walk or bus it if you can, because traffic will be fierce – do keep in mind that there are many street closures in the Marina and driving on Lincoln is best to avoid.
Santa Monica – Parade 9:30am, Main Street
For those that make it out of bed and are ready to party in the am, head to Santa Monica for their annual parade. If you go, take some photos and feel free to post on our Facebook Page. It’s a bit early for us to get there!
For those about to rock, check out this patio party outside at street level at Hotel Erwin in Venice, as close to the beach as you can get near Windward Av. Music by Venice Local Chris Hawley will get the party started with brews from Venice Duck Brewery and food from Hotel Erwin, hot dogs of course! This is the deal: $20 gets you in to the party with 2 brews and a hotdog or hotlink. A great way to start the evening before viewing fireworks.
Note that High, the rooftop lounge has a separate deal with RSVP…
Marina del Rey – Fireworks 9pm
You can see the fireworks show for free on the beach, we recommend Washington Bl with close proximity to nightlife or walk a little further south for a smaller crowd. My Venice Life would love to see your firweworks photos – please post on our Facebook Page after you LIKE us!
